The Mosaic World Film Festival (MWFF) has announced its lineup of 73 short films and five feature films for their 10th anniversary event which will take place August 25th through 27th at the Nordlof Center, 118 N. Main St.
The selections were selected from 320 submissions from 20 countries around the world, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan, UAE, the United Kingdom and the United States. The evening of August 25th will be the opening night premiere event starting at 6 p.m., which includes bar service, hors d’oeuvres, the announcement of award winners for all categories of the festival, and the 2017 MWFF ‘Spotlight Screening’ of the feature film “The Monster Within.” A Q&A with the filmmakers will immediately follow the screening.
All of the short films will be presented in five combined programs on August 25th and 26th with those programs being made up of narrative, animated, music video, experimental and documentary films. Four of those programs will be from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm each of those days.
The fifth shorts program will be the ‘Regional Filmmakers’ screening featuring short films by filmmakers from the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin areas. That will be held Saturday evening at 7pm on August 26th. Before the screening, there will be a Filmmakers Reception starting at 6 p.m.
On Sunday the 27th, four feature-length films will be screened beginning at 11 a.m. There will be a 30 minute intermission between each of these films and the festival screenings will conclude at 6 p.m.
All advance online purchase tickets are full festival passes and will allow access to any of the screening programs for the entire weekend.
Tickets can be purchased online below or at mosaicfilmfest.com/attend for $10 starting on July 9th. Advance VIP tickets will also be available on Friday, August 25th at the Nordlof Center box office during the event.
Single day tickets are only available at the box office on Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th and cost $5. These tickets are available on August 26th and 27th and are good for a full day of screenings on the day purchased.
