Filmmaker Interview for “From Combat To Classroom”

From Combat To Classroom
Director: Jackson Matthew Milligan (USA)
“Combat To Classroom” shares the story of our teacher Mr. Brandt, and his journey from serving in the military to teaching at a small rural school in Northern California.
Documentary – Student

What drew you to create this film?  – We wanted to learn more about Mr. Brandt, our history teacher.

What does filmmaking mean to you?  – It was fun and exciting to collaborate with fellow students and it was enjoyable to make a short film about someone with an interesting past.

What advice would you give students or beginners that want to make films? – Many people underestimate how long filmmaking takes, even for short films, but don’t let that discourage you as making a film could take months to years to finish and even the best films took forever to make. That said, try and make the best out of it and have fun!

What film genres do you watch again and again? – As now eleventh graders, we enjoy horror, comedy, action/adventure, and anime.

Hope this is helpful to know more about the crew that made this film possible.

Thank you again for selecting our film!

From Combat To Classroom
